SPOILERS for The Wife by Alafair Burke



Angela was kidnapped when she was a teenager and was gone for three years. When she was rescued she was found with a baby boy, Spencer.  She passed the baby off as her own, but in reality, it was the baby of the second woman her kidnapper had kidnapped.  The shocking detail revealed was that the other woman kidnapped was her friend Trisha and that Angela helped lure her in to keep her kidnapper happy.

Angela was also the one who murdered Jason's accuser.  She only accused Jason because she was pissed that Jason wouldn't leave Angela.  They had been having a consensual affair for months and when Angela went to her to admit that she believed her accusations, the woman mocked Angela and revealed that she knew the truth about Spencer's parentage.   Angela couldn't handle it and killed her.
Her mother helped her to dispose the body and then her mother framed Jason for the murder!

    She didn't necessarily get away with it. The detective, Corinne Duncan, figured it out and started looking for her. So was the first accuser, Rachel, telling the truth? I have to admit, this one had me guessing up till the end.
