SPOILERS for SMALL GREAT THINGS by Jodi Picoult

It was revealed that Brit's absent mother was black.  Brit's father was so upset by what happened in their relationship that he joined the "movement".   When it is revealed to Brit that her mother was black she went off the deep end, killed herself, and Turk left the movement.   It changed his world to realize that his precious baby boy was partly black.

Ruth is acquitted of murder after it was discovered the child had a medical condition that proved to be fatal.  She goes on to open her own clinic, where years down the road she encounters Turk again and his child with his new wife.  Neither of them acknowledge the past and behave in a normal patient/doctor kind of way.

SPOILERS for THE KILLER NEXT DOOR by Alex Marwood

Vesta accidentally killed the creepy landlord when he was in her apartment in the middle of the night. She thought it was a burglar.  All of the neighbors gathered together to dispose of the body because none of them wanted the police around.    One night Sher goes chasing after her cat who got into Thomas's attic flat and found two of his mummified "girls".    He chases Sher out onto the roof and he ends up falling to his death.  Collette sees the serial killer as a way to put an end to the men chasing after her.  She is going to fake her death by leaving a couple fingers in the serial killer's apartment.   And it works.
