Two sisters, Renee and Miriam, survived their father's muder/suicide when they were young. They were sent to the foster care system, where one made it through relatively unscathed, and the other did not. Miriam lost track of her sister, but her sister never lost track of her. Miriam got pregnant while in university; both she and her partner, Jack, had to drop out after their son, Cameron, was born. Miriam struggled with postpartum depression, and she went to see Dr. Walker, a therapist provided by the university. Only he assaulted her.
Miriam went right to the police, and the detective, Judith Lee, basically blew her off and told her that she wasn't strong enough for this battle.
Miriam went home to plan her end.
Ten years later, Renee is on her revenge tour. She killed or tried to ruin everybody who had a hand in her sister's suicide. Renee had posed as Alexis Turner and Celine, the au pair.
Judith was able to save Cameron. Renee disappeared out of the cave, never to be seen again. Or maybe until another book?
