This one has one seriously unreliable narrator. There were two narrators. One you knew was Sam and the other you assumed was his wife, it was not.
It was his landlord. Same was renting his office from the landlord.
You assumed the landlord was female. And you would be wrong.
Albert Bitterman was the landlord and pulled a "Misery" on Sam. Kidnapping him during the storm.
Albert ended up killing himself, but not before he paid off all of Sam's debt. Including the nursing home where Sam's mom resides.
This book had three narrators - Sam, Albert and Sam’s wife Annie
