Nicole "met" Morgan on some website for women who longed for babies. Nicole "selected" Morgan because of their interactions on that website.
Tessa was the wackjob who not only had an affair with Greg but was tormenting Nicole with all of the "Amanda" stuff. She was jealous of Nicole's success and was angry that Nicole didn't leave her in charge while she was on maternity leave.
Nicole REALLY did cause Amanda's death because she left a blanket in the baby's crib and the blanket smothered her.
Morgan and Ben ended up together raising the baby.
