Amelia first thought that it was an old classmate of her friend's that killed her. Then she thought it was her husband and almost too late she realized that it was her new boss, the Oncologist. Turns out that he and David (Amelia's ex) were diagnosing and treating healthy people with cancer in order to bilk insurance companies for a ton of money.
Amelia and Jake ended up together. Amelia left the medical profession to work for her neighbor, an outfitter. AND David was going to set it up that Amelia would take care of Nora when David goes to jail for his involvement in the fraud.
