Edith's father, Ian, had been having an affair with Taylor. Taylor had been bribing Ian to take care of his ten-year-old brother. Ian drugged him with Ketamine and was going to drop his body off in the woods. Edith had been at the country house and saw the body in the trunk, she thought he was dead and took off to not have to face her father and the scandal surrounding what she had just discovered. Edith's mother figured out that Edith had ran and found her at the end, bringing her home to come clean to the police. Mannon ended up adopting Taylor's little brother.
