Freya had been abusing Max. She attacked Max with a hammer and right after that, Low showed up. Intending to kill herself in front of Freya. When Low realized that Freya was going to kill Maggie next, she shot and killed Freya. Then put her body in the kiln.
Max gave Maggie to Jamie and Brian.
Max was the biological father of Maggie.
Great read but horrible, horrible people! Talk about your shitty characters! Not one single person that I don't think I wouldn't have thrown in front of a bus! They deserved each other.
