Parzival was kind of a jerk. He let all of the fame and fortune go to his head.
It was Og that killed Anorak and saved everybody in the ONI.
The Vonnegut, the ship, discussed at the beginning of the book was a sort of "escape pod" to get people off of the earth. But Parzival and everybody else on board were AI. The only living thing on board were the embryos they had for "just in case."
