SPOILERS for The Shampoo Effect by Jenny Jackson

Caroline wrote an article for The New Yorker spilling the secrets of all of Van's friends. 

The biggest one was that Augusta's husband, Collin, had been romantically involved with Augusta's brother, Ethan. Fran knew and spilled it to Caroline. Augusta didn't know until the "story" was published.  After an extended separation, Collin moved back home following a lice incident with the kids. 

Fran and RJ had it out over a game of HORSE. RJ agreed to stop drinking and take on more responsibility around the house. He also paid off the gambling debt of Fran's father, but also made Fran agree to marry him. 

Bailey and Van broke up but still co-parented very well. And the book ended with Caroline finding a jelly donut on the roof of her car, a gift from Van.
