Amelia had childhood trauma from killing her father while he attacked her mother. It caused an alter ego to develop: the Charleston Killer. Her alter ego came raging out when she realized that her husband was cheating on her with Mandy. Amelia's alter ego engineered the invitation to the Dead Girl's Book Club and eventually killed Mandy, just like she killed the others.
