This was a haunting novel.
Evie was dead. She died in the hospital after Lex escaped and found help.
Daniel died in the home and they found his body after they rescued the others.
Who was Daniel?

ReplyDeleteThat was the assumption I made. That, or that she was seriously considering it. She had pretty much settled all her old business, and each encounter with her siblings and other loved ones had an air of finality; Plus, she had confirmed to Delilah at the reception that she thought of suicide "All the time". I think maybe the way you interpret the end might say something about whether you're an optimist or a pessimist- I must be a pessimist, because it seemed to me that she was unable and unwilling to let her fantasy of Evie go, and it was starting to make living a "normal" life unrealistic.
