It was the son of Olivia's best friend who killed Amanda Pierce. The kid discovered she was having an affair with his father (Glenda's husband) and he killed Amanda to keep their family together. Glenda helped him clean up the mess and dump the body.
Glenda also killed their other neighbor, Carmine, to protect Adam.
