Whew - lots of spoilers with this one. First of all, Brett was not really gay. She said she was gay in order to win a grant to start her company and it just went from there. While in between girlfriends, and off-season, Brett crashed with Stephanie, and her husband Vince. The big secret is that Brett slept with Vince. Not Stephanie as hinted at by producers.
It is also hinted at that Vince or Stephanie killed Brett. In reality, it was Jen. Whose empire was in danger because Brett could expose her secret.
