Casey was Ella. The flashbacks were to her childhood. She finally killed her mother by setting the house on fire. She discovered her father had been released from jail, and he took her in. That's when she started going by Casey.
Casey's neighbor, Lee, was Anton's little brother. Eleanor was Anton's child. Eleanor's mother had been abusing her, but it was her boyfriend who stabbed her.
Casey went and found Eleanor's mother and set the fire that killed her, too.
