Pastor Ben killed Miss Ollie. She was his buddy's sister, who had died in a boating accident when they were young. Miss Ollie discovered that Pastor Ben was skimming money, so she blackmailed him. 

Miss Ollie had still been alive when Mary Beth found her. But she twisted the knife to ensure her death.
