Winston disappeared when he was flying the plane to Wilmington with the FBI guy staying at his house. Colleen discovered later on that the FBI agent had taken leave from his post in Florida and was likely running the drugs. Winston's body was eventually found with a gunshot wound. The agent was never found.
Colleen moved back to North Carolina, studied for the bar, and was soon pregnant again.
