Turns out that Fern was the "good sister."
Rose killed their mother. Lied about her relationship with Owen. And the chapters that were labeled as Rose's journal were all lies because she was setting Fern up to be deemed "unfit" to care for her unborn child.
"Wally" was also a famous app developer who was worth millions. He and Fern ended up together raising their baby.
The book ended with Rose in jail awaiting trial for murdering their mother and plotting how she could pin it on Fern. It left me thinking a sequel could be in the works?
