Aimee Sinclair is really a woman by the name of Kira. When she was a young child she ran away from home because her brother wouldn't buy her a pair of red shoes. She was then kidnapped by a woman mourning the loss of her own child and was forever Aimee Sinclair after that.
This is where things get weird. Aimee's husband was also her stalker. But even weirder is that "Ben" was really Aimee's brother. The one who didn't buy her the red shoes. He was angry that Aimee had gone on to have a successful career. Without ever acknowledging who she really was or where she was from.
He was going to kill her, but she seduced him to prolong her life. And according to the epilogue, she got pregnant with her brother's child, but married her costar and told him it was his baby.

ReplyDeleteGlad I read this because I'm listening to the book now and already guessed that Ben was going to turn out to be her brother. It didn't make sense otherwise. This is one creepy book.
