SPOILERS for The Dinner List by Rebecca Srle

It was revealed at the dinner that Sabrina's dad left Sabrina and her mother after her father while driving drunk, had a car accident with Sabrina's mom that killed her unborn baby, Sabrina's sister.   Sabrina's father went on to remarry and had two more daughters, Sabrina's sisters.

Tobias was killed in a car accident.  He was on his way back to Sabrina after they had been separated for a month.  He is was going to propose again, but this time with the ring that Sabrina really wanted.

The book ended with Sabrina reading a letter her half-sister sent her years ago, indicating that Sabrina was going to reconnect with her father's family.
